I have worked in the Young Carers' Project since June 2009; before I became the Project Co-ordinator I worked as a Young Carers' Support Worker for 2 years.
Here’s some facts about me… I studied Chinese and lived in China for 2 years. For 8 years I worked for British Airways and travelled all over the world! I have 2 children and I love cycling, reading and cooking.

When I left school I studied catering for 2 years and worked in a hotel as a chef but my dream job at that time was to be a Home Economics teacher. After I had my children I decided I would like to work with children so I went back to college to do a diploma In Early Years Childcare and Education.
You probably know that I love cooking but I am also an animal lover. People call me the cat lady as I have FIVE cats (and a lovely Labrador called Olly – named after Olly Murs of course!)

In a former life I studied NVQ Level 4 in Accounting and worked as a Finance Manager for a long time before embarking on a career change, starting as a Youth Worker at The Fountain Youth Centre, New Malden. Since then, I have completed a part-time Certificate in Youth & Community Work and Diploma for Connexions Personal Advisers and I’ve worked in many different roles supporting either children, young people or whole families. This has included young people leaving care, young people not in education, employment or training and women and children fleeing domestic abuse.
When I started at Kingston Carers’ Network in June 2010 I was part of the team that supports adult carers but in May 2012 I moved over to the Young Carers’ Family Support Project. Since then I have supported over 50 young carers and their families!
