When I left school I studied catering for two years and worked in a hotel as a chef but my dream job at that time was to be a Home Economics teacher. After I had my children I decided I would like to work with children so I went back to college to do a diploma In Early Years Childcare and Education.
You probably know that I love cooking but I am also an animal lover. People call me the cat lady as I have FIVE cats (and a lovely Labrador called Olly – named after Olly Murs of course!)

I have worked for YCP since 2017 and before this I worked in a school doing emotional support work for 12 years. I love working with children and young people and being able to help them. My favourite sort of activities are the arty and creative ones, I love drawing in particular. I also like doing cooking and baking.
When I’m not working, I have a young son and lots of pets that keep me busy, including 5 chickens, cats and a dog! I like spending time with my family and friends too.

I joined the YCP in the autumn of 2019 and work with young people on their own or in small groups as well as families that need some extra support. I also work at the youth group, drop ins and Chessington School Lunch Club.
When I’m not working I love going on holidays with my family and meeting friends.

I joined the YCP in July 2021. I have worked in a variety of community roles within the charity sector as well as been a volunteer for a wide range of programmes. From being a research assistant in the Amazon rainforest working with primates, volunteering at an orphanage in Uganda to my most recent experience of being a volunteer mentor where I was matched with a vulnerable young person. Being a mentor has been one of my most rewarding experiences so far and I am looking forward to recruiting a team of passionate volunteers who will make a positive difference to the lives of young carers and vice versa!
I love travelling, walking my dog ‘Walnut’, spending time with family and am a big Joe Wicks fan!
