I joined the Young Carers’ Project in November 2019. Prior to that, I worked with children and young people on a number of sport related projects mainly in East Africa and India. I also have an extensive IT and project management background in the corporate and charity sectors.

When I am not at work, I enjoy playing and coaching football, as well as running, cycling and doing anything sporty. I have two young children and they certainly keep me busy. In my spare time I run a local Residents’ Association and I volunteer in our local Hogsmill Community Garden.

When I left school I studied catering for two years and worked in a hotel as a chef but my dream job at that time was to be a Home Economics teacher. After I had my children I decided I would like to work with children so I went back to college to do a diploma In Early Years Childcare and Education.

You probably know that I love cooking but I am also an animal lover. People call me the cat lady as I have FIVE cats (and a lovely Labrador called Olly – named after Olly Murs of course!)

I have worked for YCP since 2017 and before this I worked in a school doing emotional support work for 12 years. I love working with children and young people and being able to help them. My favourite sort of activities are the arty and creative ones, I love drawing in particular. I also like doing cooking and baking.

When I’m not working, I have a young son and lots of pets that keep me busy, including 5 chickens, cats and a dog! I like spending time with my family and friends too.

When I left school I was unsure what to do, so I did a finance apprenticeship with Unilever but I didn’t really enjoy finance! I wanted to work with children so I became a teaching assistant before joining the Young Carers' Project. I am also currently studying for a Childhood and Youth Studies degree with the Open University.

I love gymnastics and did it a lot as a child. I even competed with a local squad! I love working with children as I think they’re the most fun to work with and always bring a smile to my face.

I am back! After previously working at the project a few years ago, I’m excited to return and looking forward to contributing to the project. I studied Childhood, Youth and Community studies and have recently finished working at an autism specialist school in Mitcham.

I love art and do lots of drawings in my spare time, I also create different DIY crafts when I get the chance!

I joined the Young Carers’ Project in November 2019 after finishing my degree in French & Comparative Literature. When I was studying I worked for lots of places that help children in care. I found that working with young people and charities was something I really enjoyed so I kept on going!

I love writing and I’m a big fan of animals, especially dogs! When I’m not at work I like to spend time with my friends, play computer games and listen to music. I also raise awareness of mental health and wellbeing.

I worked for lots of different charities before I joined the Young Carers' Project in September 2018. I also used to work as a teacher, helping adults with their reading and writing.

When I’m not at work, I volunteer for a charity that helps people learn to read in prison. I also love spending time with my two children, reading, sewing and escaping to the theatre when I can!

I have been a support worker with Young Carers' Project since September 2016. As well as supporting the team in the office I help run our 12+ Youth group on Wednesday evenings, the Welcome Group, Cook and Eat, the lunch club at Tolworth Girls and lots of activities in half term and holidays too!

When I am not working with YCP I teach horse riding, and enjoy cooking, swimming and reading.
